The Scotsman reports on an early-warning alert service called Warden Watch, which encourages drivers to keep an eye out for each other's vehicles when parking wardens are on the prowl.
"Drivers who sign up put a sticker in their car window appealing for people to text a special helpline if they spot a warden.
Simply texting the member's car registration number generates a "traffic warden alert" message to their mobile phone. The hope is that members will look out for each other and even that some Good Samaritans on the street might help.
... According to Paul Johnson, the London-based entrepreneur behind the project, "In no way are we encouraging drivers to break the law with this. But traffic wardens are incredibly overzealous these days and we have just had enough of this unfair treatment - and thousands and thousands of people are feeling the same way."
