Web, Texting Bring Uninvited To Parties

A house party got totally out of control Friday when word of it spread like wildfire thanks to text messaging and a website called MySpace.com. The search for a teenager who crashed the high school party and murdered another kid continues in the East Bay.

This story reported by ABC local has been in the news for several days. With so many uninvited guests, students can't identify the killer. It was supposed to be a small party for Albany High students only.

In 2003, there were many such stories reported from Australia, on how SMS enables idle teenagers out prowling at night to find out what's happening where, through text messaging and then crashing parties. The Australian police did something about it, offering guidelines to parents. Maybe the US should do the same.
