1 in 3 Korean Students Send Over 100 Text Messages a Day

One third of Korean students send more than 100 messages every day on their mobile phones, according to a recent survey, reports The Korea Times.

Two factors seem to be key: budget-sensitive students love text messaging, which is cheaper than voice calls, and the handset is convenient to use in class by stealth.

Yet 49.8 percent said they experienced financial troubles due to over-texting and high monthly rates.
