Crank callers' mobile phones may be neutralised
People who make crank calls to the emergency services will have their mobile phones neutralised if proposed new legislation is implemented in the UK, according to UTV Live
... "Manager of the Fire Communications Centre, Fergal Stack, says false alarm incidents are not extraordinarily high in Limerick but he says the issue needs to be addressed.
"We`ve had some discussions with ComReg in relation to how to deal with this problem and they`ve been quite helpful in terms of those discussions. So we`re hoping to move forward in terms of legislation to allow us to address this issue of barring phone calls that are being abused in this fashion."
