Text to Juror: Baby's Born

Here's a happy story from The Mirror.

"A Juror was discharged yesterday after receiving a text during a trial that he had just become a dad. The news, accompanied by a picture of the baby boy who had arrived five weeks early, came as a witness gave evidence.

Jubilant, the new dad wrote a note to judge David Pitman at Snaresbrook crown court, East London. Judge Pitman replied: "Congratulations. Of course, I overlook you breaching rules banning jurors from having mobile phones.

"It's unfair to expect you to continue sitting when your mind is on little bootees and things. So I'm going to discharge you."
