Wireless Headsets for Motorcyclists with Non-Bluetooth Mobile Phones

scala_riderhome184x159.jpgCardo Systems, developer of Bluetooth(TM) devices, is launching its scala-rider(TM) Combo unit, which provides motorcyclists with handsfree, wireless communications capabilities even when used with standard, non-Bluetooth mobile phones. The product bundles Cardo's scala-rider headset with its new Bluetooth adapter, the BTA II.

Designed for both motorcycle and scooter helmets, the system features a wind-resistant microphone that provides clear communications while riding at speeds of up to 75 mph.

Motorcyclists can manage their phone calls by voice control without having to let go of their vehicle's handlebars. The system also features an embedded sensor that automatically adjusts volume levels according to driving speed and ambient noise, making manual adjustment of volume virtually unnecessary.

The scala-rider is weather protected, allowing riders to use the device in rainy and snowy conditions, and can be installed within minutes to fit both full- or open-faced helmets without adhesive. The entire system - headset and adapter - provides approximately 8 hours of talk-time and a full week of standby time.
