Program Buys Calling Cards for Soldiers by Trading in Old Cellphones
There’s a program underway in Rapid City, South Dakota where used cellphones are traded in for cash so that pre-paid calling cards can be sent to soldiers currently deployed in combat zones.
The initiative was originally started in Massachusetts by two teenagers last year which so far has raised over $250,000 and sent more than 50,000 prepaid calling cards to U.S. troops. [via Wireless Weblogs Inc]
