Mythical legislation

gaspump.gif The Manila Standard reports that Councilors of Quezon City in the Philippines have initiated an ordenance based on a well known urban legend, to ban the use of mobile phones while fillilng up at a gas station, to avoid triggering an explosion from a gasoline fume - and to boot, have budgeted a fortune to enforce the new law.

Philippino Councilors aren't the first legislators to be fooled, in the US, last March, State Sen. Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford, tried to pass a bill that would impose a $250 fine on people who use their cellular phones while pumping gas"
