EasyMobile ups stakes in German mobile price war
Reuters reports that discount mobile phone service provider easy Mobile joined a price war in Germany on Wednesday, offering a flat rate of 16 eurocents ($0.19) per minute for calls to any network in Germany around the clock.
" The tariff, under which SMS text messages cost 12 eurocents, does not entail any minimum contract length or monthly fee. Rivals debitel and coffee and retail store chain Tchibo have offers for 15 eurocents per minute, but with strings attached.
EasyMobile joins a growing number of companies challenging mobile operators T-Mobile, Vodafone , O2 and E-Plus by bulk-buying cheap surplus minutes from the operators and selling them on."
