Click and ring online
Not cell phone related (well at least not yet), but an interesting development for Skype.
According to Aftenposten, Nordic catalog giant Eniro and Internet telephony service Skype announced a cooperation Thursday that will allow users to make a phone call by clicking on a number.
Skype unveiled a program that lets users dial direct from web browsers Internet Explorer and Firefox. At the same time, they agree to cooperate with Eniro, to make their Internet phone listings click and callable.
The service went live in Sweden on Thursday, and Eniro's press chief Erik Kristow told Aftenposten.no that the facility would probably be in place in Norway early next week.
Eniro holdings include search and catalog web sites Gule Sider (Yellow Pages), Eniro and Kvasir in Norway, making it the next largest owner of web sites in the country, after media giant Schibsted."
