Allisblue - transform cells phones into Web remote controls
The Inquirer has a very interesting article on a company called AllisBlue, which has a patent pending for technology that transform all types of mobile telephones into Web remote controls.
How does it work?
"Say you're in the subway, and there's an ad with a URL and you have a phone but can't go online. You just key in a number and when you next go online, you get an email delivering the information you want. Advertisers have a bridge between offline and online, it claims.
It costs one Euro to deliver an email doesn't cost the consumer anything and it's relatively cheap for advertisers. Allisblue assures us that while the advertiser knows a valid mail has been delivered, it doesn't get your email, so you won't be spammed in future. Ford and others are already experimenting with the technology.
The data belongs to the consumer, the tech is patented in Europe and there's patents pending in the USA. His business is worth a million Euro in Belgium".
