Shangai. Crackdown on SMS porn, scams, fraud

According to Shangai Daily, communication authorities are trying to crack down on the boom in illegal short messages, but it's difficult because there is no relevant legislation and many offending messages originate outside Shanghai.

"The offensive messages include pornography, advertising scams, bank card frauds and other deceptions.

The Shanghai Communications Administration announced on its Website that local mobile phone operators have been ordered to halt the illegal short messages that spread through mobile phones. They must report the results by November 15. "
