Domestic Violence poll by SMS

Lauren Hillman, who works for Verizon Wireless sent Anastasia over at Ypulse this stat (along with a press release):

"According to a Children Now/Kaiser Permanente poll, 40 percent of teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 know someone their age who has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend." So Verizon is teaming with Liz Claiborne and Marie Claire in an SMS campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence. Here's how it will work:

From October 7th through October 26th, mobile users can help raise awareness of domestic violence by taking part in a text poll aimed to find out how many people know someone who is a victim or perpetrator of domestic violence."

Participants need only to text 'TALK' to 'ENDDV' (or 36338) and will receive in return several questions for answering.
