So why did AOL buy some blogs for $25m?

engadgetcapt.gif This has been such amazing news for the blogosphere this week, I hope you don't mind my digressing from cell phones for just a second, and sharing with you what I've found the most interesting to read on the AOL/WeblogsInc deal so far.

The best article I've read so far is why AOL bought WeblogsInc, by Michael Butcher via Netimperative.

Read also another article entitled How Many Blogs Did AOL Buy, Exactly? by Scott Kidder, who's currently working for Gawker Media, and who recently completed a (non biased? I can't tell) analysis of WeblogsInc's properties: ... "My count was 31. Now, mind you, 31 is still a lot! Gawker Media only has 14 sites. But 31 is not 85..

An read What Now? by Jason Calacanis on basically what's next and don't miss glancing at what Nick Denton has to say.

On a personal note, congratulations to Peter Rojas and everyone over at Engadget!
