TI Plans Camera Phone Flashes
Looking to remedy the problem of crummy flashes usually associated with camera cell phones, semiconductor firm Texas Instruments plans to introduce two new chips in the next four to six weeks that could help camera phones take better pictures, according to The Red Herring.
Inferior flash, and often the lack of any flash at all, is a major reason why camera phones aren't equivalent to digital cameras, even when they have the same resolution, say analysts like Charles Golvin, a principal analyst at Forrester Research."
