50 Million 3G Subscriptions

The UMTS Forum says that global 3G subscriptions have passed 50 million, this compares with 1.5 billion GSM subscribers who can use SMS, reports 160characters.org.

"The UMTS Forum's estimation is based on a combination of published industry statistics and internal data held by its member organisations."
