Man arrested for text message hoax. Contd.

Update. More on this story because I just can't believe anyone would do something like this.

"Nektarios Sotirios Voutas, 32 a father of one, shot into the international media spotlight on Sunday after telling private television stations in Athens that he received a SMS text from a cousin aboard the airplane moments before the Cypriot passenger jet crashed near the village of Grammatikos.

Voutas, from Salonica in northern Greece, has been charged with spreading false information and making a false statement to authorities.

He later admitted that his claim was part of a publicity stunt, expressing remorse over the act."
