Mobile Marriage
Phoneyworld reports on a mobile wedding.
"Bridegroom Baqar Abbas was in Raipur; a long distance from Mumbai while his to-be bride remained in Mumbai, inundated by extremely heavy rainfall in the last few weeks They were supposed to wed on Thursday night (28th July). Unfortunately the trains were not going anywhere. The stubborn lovers decided to wed the same evening using technology to defy nature.
The "cellular phone" was decided to be the medium with which the rain gods were defied. The wireless Nikah ceremony (wedding) was performed over the cell phone with priests on both sides supervising the ceremonies at the two ends.
The wedding registration certificate was signed by the bride and faxed to the groom who also signed it and submitted it."
