SMS bomb hoax on Dublin flight

Sydney teen, Angela Sceats, 19, said she was joking when she sent a friend an SMS to warn police there was a bomb on board the Dublin flight she was to catch at Stansted Airport, London last November, reported the Press Association via The Electric New Paper.

"She allegedly sent her friend and fellow Australian Angela Forster, living in London, this message, because she was afraid she would miss her flight: Can you call the police? There is a bomb on board. The flight is 810. Leaving from Stansted. Going to Dublin. The number is 999. Do it now.

Her friend acted on the message. And that caused three aircraft to be delayed. The police even considered closing the airport, but flights were allowed to take off after they arrested Sceats who claimed that it had 'all been a bit of a misunderstanding'."
