Wireless Carriers Provide Bodyguard Services

skt_gps_call.jpg Telecoms Korea reports on several very interesting location based cell phone security services:

-- SK Telecom's GPS Emergency Call Service: "When a caller in an emergency pushes the GPS emergency call button for help, he or she can reach up to four people whose numbers are stored in the caller's phone. A text message and a map showing the caller's location will be sent to the receivers at the same time. The service shows the caller's location at the moment of emergency call and for the next 48 hours.

-- KTF's Mobilization Mobiguard Service: When a user pushes a button on a cell phone in case of emergency, the user's location is detected and security guards will take action.

-- LG Telecom's Aladdin Phone Emergency Aid Service: When a caller in danger pushes the emergency button, a picture is automatically taken and sent to the stored numbers along with the caller's location For this service, a special (Aladdin) phone is required.
