Emergency Planners engouraging Brits to sign up to C.A.T.S.

news_textalert070403.jpg Oxfordshire County Council's emergency planners are again urging people to sign up to the City Alert Text System (CATS) following the recent terrorist attacks in London.

Once signed up to the service people receive warnings, advice and updates if an emergency happens that might affect them; ranging from flooding to a terrorist incident.

County Council Emergency Planners are offering a special deal to the first 500 people who sign up to the CATS initiative. These people will be provided with the service free-of-charge for one year and for one postcode per person. [via eGov Monitor]
