Israeli police try to head off Gaza protests

Israeli police attempted Tuesday to head off a confrontation as thousands of Israeli protesters made plans to march from Kfar Mayon to Gaza in protest of plans to pull out of the territory, reports CNN.

"Police estimate the number of the protesters to be about 10,000 but organizers say there are many more. Protest leaders were urging their followers to use their cell phones to make calls and send text messages urging more protesters to come to the area."
