Santosh Jha makes threat calls from jail
How inmates get hold of cell phones and use them while incarcerated is a problem wordwide. Today's edition of NDTV has an account of an incident in India, where a prisoner is using a cell phone from jail to threaten in wife.
"Bihar flood scam king pin, Santosh Jha has been lodged in Beur jail for the last 20 days.
But that has not stopped him from making threatening calls to his wife, Rachna.
"The calls come at odd hours. He calls and threatens, saying he will not let go of the children," said Chandan Jha, Brother-in-law of Santosh Jha.
Following the reports, Bihar's Governor Buta Singh has ordered an inquiry.
"We discussed this case in the morning. Immediate action will be taken there to ensure that mobile phones are not used in jail. But a permanent solution to this can be found only through the use of jammers. Sometimes, jail authorities can smuggle phones in but using jammers can be a permanent solution," the Governor said."
