Samsung Unveils Bluetooth Voice Recognition Phone
Samsung Electronics is launching a cutting-edge mobile phone that has combined Bluetooth with voice recognition technology.
This sounds promising. I have voice recognition on my phone, but if I don't prononce the name of the person who's number I want to call, exactly the same way with the same intonation than the day I recorded it, it won't work. Also, any background noise renders the function useless.
"The SGH-E620 Bluetooth voice recognition phone is much easier to use than existing gadgets which need to be placed close to the user's mouth and its capacity for voice recognition has been greatly enhanced. Furthermore, calls can be made with the mobile phone left untouched inside a user's bag or pocket, making it even more convenient - and safe while driving.
A "speaker-independent voice recognition" technology has been adopted in the SGH-E620, which does not limit voice recognition to voice type. The phone supports 5 languages, namely English, French, Spanish, German and Italian".
