Cell phone saves lives in desert

Border Patrol agents trying to save lives in 110-degree heat are finding a new ally: cell phones, according to Tucson Citizen. Still, scorching temperatures may have killed six illegal immigrants over the weekend.

"A group of suspected illegal immigrants turned themselves in yesterday with a 911 call from a phone that agents believe was taken from a smuggler. It was at least the second such incident this spring.

Last year, counties' medical examiners tallied 221 deaths of illegal immigrants along the border".
