'Obscene' S. African cell phone prices slammed
A South African consumer group has asked the country's telecoms watchdog, ICASA, to investigate what it called the "obscene" cost of cell phone calls, it said on Wednesday, reports Reuters.
"Business leaders have previously cited high communications costs as a key deterrent to investment in South Africa.
The Communication Users Association of South Africa (CUASA) said sky-high rates for cell phone calls and text messaging in Africa's most advanced economy were ripping off customers and hurting business".
