AMBER Alerts now available via SMS

AMBER Alert, the nationwide notification service for missing children, has launched an SMS feature that allows users to keep abreast of alerts in their home area, reports Mobile Tracker.

"To sign up for the free service (only carrier imposed SMS fees apply), go to WirelessAMBERAlerts.org. After submitting a wireless number, the website will ask you for all areas that alerts should be sent for.
