Speakeasy - relaunching May 2005
Speakeasy is a community-based telephone service that connects new immigrants with a network of volunteer "Guides" who answer questions, give advice and agency referrals, and offer language interpretation services.
Speakeasy was piloted in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood in the Spring of 2004, and will be re-launched in May, 2005 (thanks to a generous grant from the AT&T Wireless Foundation). Speakeasy also received a $2000 prize from the MIT Ideas Comptetition.
