Toddlers are cellphone-crazy in Hong Kong

One quarter of all cellphone users in gadget-crazy Hong Kong are aged 13 or under, according to a survey published here, reports The IOL.

"Some children start using phones from pre-school upwards and 5,1 percent of children aged under six own a cellphone. Eighty percent of parents said they bought their children new phones with the remainder using second-hand phones, according to the survey by the Chinese-language daily newspaper, Ming Pao.

Hong Kong has one of the world's highest rates of cellphone ownership, with more than seven million subscriptions for a population of 6,8 million".
