Public urged to join crackdown on vandals

Members of the public are being urged to act as informants to track the activities of vandals in a new crime blitz, reports the Edinburgh Evening News.

"A confidential phoneline, text messaging service and e-mail address has been set up for residents to pass on information about vandals to police.

The crackdown follows an alarming rise in vandalism and fire-raising in Midlothian (Scotland).
