Cell phone helps cops rescue girl
A key feature included on many newer cellular telephones led to the rescue of a girl who had fallen over an embankment in the dark Friday night and injured herself.
Disoriented and lost, she was unable to tell 911 where she was, however, the dispatcher was able to use the geographic positioning system device on the girl's phone to hone in on her approximate location. After finding her, her cell phone adress book and a few phone calls helped reach her parents.
