"TicTALK Jr." a cell phone for infants
Following the trend of phones designed for increasingly younger kids, Cellular specialty manufacturer Enfora today announced the TicTALK Jr.GSM phone designed for infants.
The phone is in the shape of a pacifier. Similar to a baby monitor, parents can call the device to listen to their baby.
A special "baby training" mode also allows babies to communicate with parents. In that mode, each time the baby sucks on the pacifier part, a short SMS is sent to the parents' phones with the word "love".
The device also includes a "peek-a-boo" game. The project is sponsored by Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, and LG, who, in a move apparently inspired by the tobacco industry, have formed a coalition to try to get kids addicted to cell phones as young as possible".
