Madrid installs kiosks to download ringtones and games

Spanish company TeleRecarga is installing in Madrid the Icon Coins, interactive kiosks that allow mobile phone users to buy and download ringtones, wallpapers or games on their device, reports El Mundo.

The kiosk connects directly to TeleRecarga which manages every transaction with the relevant provider, no matter this one is located (some are in Canada, UK, Germany, etc.)

The user can check what's on offer and listen the various formats of ringtones, view demos of the games and even customise the wallpapers before buying them.

The kiosks can also be used to top up the phone credit from national carriers, and the company hopes that, within a few month, foreigners will also be able to do the same even if their provider is not Spanish.
