Exiles to Make a Mockery of Zimbabwe Poll Via SMS

To protest against the withdrawal by the Zimbabwe government of their right to vote, Zimbabweans living in SA will be able participate in a mock election by sending the name of the party they favour through SMSs, reports AllAfrica.com.

Daniel Molokele, who is running the cellphone voting campaign on behalf of the non-governmental organisation Crisis in Zimbabwe, said yesterday South Africans could show their support by sending an SMS with the word "solidarity".

The initiative was part of a campaign by Zimbabwean exile groups and their South African supporters to protest against the Zimbabwe government in the run-up to the country's parliamentary polls this month."
