85 in 100 Russians to have cell phones late 2005

Eighty-five Russians in each one hundred will have cell phones late 2005, Information Technologies and Communication Minister Leonid Reiman told a meeting of the presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Tuesday. [via Itar Tass]

"In Russia's two biggest cities - in Moscow and St. Petersburg - there are already 103 cell phones per 100 residents, he said.

The cellular penetration rate in the country has exceeded 54 percent on the average,” Reiman said.
