streetpeddler.com
I've never seen such a day as today, with so little (actually nothing so far) to report about for this column, so I'm posting this, which is not related, because it's a time of year when I really miss New York and because I think it's FABULOUS!
Streetpepddler.com brings you the Manhattan street shopping experience no matter where you are, complete with the sounds (you can hear the susbway!); vendors hawking trinkets, pedestrians flooding the sidewalks, the din of traffic.
"At the site, tin and stuffed toys are exhibited as though they are lined up on a city sidewalk, and some (like a drumming bear) are shown in action. Watches and knockoffs of designer handbags are shown on clips used by street vendors to attach them to displays." [via The New York Times which gave the site a great write up].
