Let fingers do the walking into world of biometrics
This is really interesting. From the The Chicago Tribune in an article on biometrics and how perfected fingerprint technology is today in Asia.
The part relevant to cell phones:
"The latest sensor in Aisa is a golden sliver of silicon narrower than a finger; it looks like the edge of a narrow house key.
In Japan and South Korea, some cell phones come with the sensor beneath the "0" key, allowing the fingers and thumb to speed-dial friends and family. For instance, touching the golden strip with an index finger would dial Mom; touching it with a ring finger would dial Sweetie; touching it with the middle finger could dial the office." How cool is that?
