Texting ground
A text message service telling council tenants about housing repairs could be introduced, according to icSouthlondon.
"Under the scheme tenants' representatives will get an alert about "one-off jobs" on things such as communal lighting and stairwells.
An SMS text message will be sent to representatives to let them know an appointment has been made. It'll be one-way traffic as far as the message is concerned.
Housing chief Councillor Keith Fitchett said: "It's a very cheap and efficient way of telling people what's going on. I'm all for using SMS messages to keep the public informed."
