Location Gaming

Pervasive gaming and location based mobile phone games are become more and more sophisticated. Case in point, the following two urban location games written up in near near future. Just for the record, the first pervasive game was called BotFighters, launched in 2003, the vision of a Swedish company called It's Alive!.

Shamanic pervasive game [via near near future]
The University of Tampere's Game Research Lab is working on Songs of North (PDF presentation), a mobile, location-aware multiplayer game inspired by elements of the Finnish mythology.

Urban interactive photographic game [via near near future]
Citysnapper_game project, is an interactive photographic game, using an online 3D electronic space and SMS server technology, relating the urban space with the web, and players with an urban photographer.
