The Ring Phone
In November 2004 Siemens announced the "Siemens Design Challenge" - a competition for best new mobile phone design. The goal of the competition was for designers and students to come up with the mobile phone of the future, both in terms of form and function.
The winning submission was a phone consisting of two finger rings, one ring for listening and one for speaking, designed by Jimmy Jeppson.
Last year Ericsson arranged a similar design challenge in China - and a very similar phone design took the first prize. [via thinkingmaterials.com]
