Nokia to Use Microsoft Technology
This is bad news for me because I'm a Nokia fan and dislike Microsoft. Nokia how could you?
The WSJ reports that "Nokia has agreed to use some of Microsoft Corp.'s digital music and e-mail technology in its mobile phones, in a move that may signal a detente between two longstanding foes.
They are working together to develop a set of technologies designed to allow consumers to easily transfer digital music between cellphones and personal computers.
Nokia also said Monday that it plans to use some Microsoft technology that will allow users to wirelessly synchronize their e-mail and address books between high-end Nokia phones and corporate computers running Microsoft's software.
These moves represent a significant departure from Nokia's long-held strategy of countering Microsoft's efforts to gain a foothold in the cellphone software market." This is a sad day.
