Who gets my votes at the Weblog Awards
Everyone's favorite blogger Régine and behind the scenes tech-help Max, from near near future are up for two Weblog Awards, best european blog and best computers or technology weblog. For the latter, Max and Régine are up against such giants as Engadget, Slashdot and Gizmodo. Very impressive. Well done! Hey, it's just those two people blogging out of Turin - they're not backed by a nanopublishing group, they have no support and Régine does ALL the research and writing.
In all my years online - nearly 10 now - , I have never enjoyed anything so much as near near future. Régine's choice of subjects have been an eye opener for all who read her, and her sense of style picked up and copied up by others. She's truly leading the way - and gives us every day with flair, a glimpse of the future.
She's got my votes and yours too I hope!
The other blogs I'm voting for right away are:
-- Popgadget in the best group weblog category. Popgadget is up against the star bloggers over at boingboing. In my book, popgadget is truly the directory of wonderful things.
-- The South-East Asia Earthquake and Tusnami Blog in the best topical weblog category as well as best new blog, for the wonderful and important work they've done in providing information and pooling ressources on the Tsunami devestation.
-- Movable Type gets my vote as best web application for weblogs because I owe them my love of blogging. It's their tool that makes updating Textually so much pleasure day after day.
-- Where is Raed in the best african or middle eastern blog category because Salam Pax more than anyone, made a difference in the world's perception of bloggers and for his honest and insightful portrayal of life in Irak.
For the other categories, I will take my time and read through them all.
