Another movement-recognition phone in the Korean market

pantech_sports_s.jpg Last week South Korea's Samsung Electronics said it had developed a mobile phone with motion-recognition capabilities and yesterday, Pantech announced the launch of PH-S6500, a 6-axis-sensored “sport-leisure” phone harbingering the era of movement-recognition phone in the Korean market.

According to the nation's third largest handset maker, the company applied for eight patents for technologies necessary to manufacture the motion-sensitive phone.

PH-S6500 is equipped with 6-axis sensor which recognizes the movement and direction of the phone when the user moves it up and down or from side to side. Therefore, it features various functions including calorie and distance calculation based on walking or running speed, direction guide and altitude indication.

Its game contents include 2 types of 3D Phone Joystick Games such as fishing game controlled by user's motion of shaking handset and racing game.
