The phone purse
Interaction designer Kerry Bodine did a research project to find an alternative when you're in a dark or noisy environment (like a bar) and don't want to carry your mobile phone on your body. It can ring, vibrate but if you want to keep it in your bag, how will you know that someone is calling you? Or that it would be worth answering the call?
She made a prototype of the Phone Purse, a bag that would provide clues about incoming calls. Different light patterns would appear on the surface of the bag: each colour would be assigned to a group of callers: someone you know, an unknown caller or a blocked caller.
