Crackdown on students

Violent and badly behaved students face tough new disciplinary action next year, reports the Australian The Daily Telegraph.

" Long-term suspensions for having drugs or weapons will be mandatory when students return to school on January 28.

Principals also have been given specific powers to suspend students for using technologies such as SMS and e-mail inappropriately or supplying prescription drugs."
