The keitai is definitely a girl's or boy's best friend in Japan -- particularly in the neighborhood of Harajuku, the cutting-edge shopping mecca for Japanese schoolgirls, according to San Francisco Chronicle.
Lately, the rise in keitai accessories has gone totemo psycho. New products include glitter for the keitai covers, square holographic covers that go over the screen to block intruders from reading your e-mail, filters or magnifying covers for your camera lens and an explosion of popular figures on straps, ranging from those of characters from the Hayao Miyazaki film "Spirited Away" to huge plush Disney characters."
The secret-agent/spy factor is a big draw. Inspired by the movie "Spy Kids," or by real life? Who knows? All that is clear is that less is definitely not more. The smaller the phone, the more numerous the accoutrements.
