Mob Shopper Brings Ads to Text Messaging Teens

According to the The Quad City Times, via YPulse, a company in Iowa called Mob Shopper is "trying to connect businesses to consumers through text messaging."

What this means is that you can opt in to receive text messages (alerts) from specific stores and be notified when they are having a sale or special promotion. You could also get local entertainment updates (what concerts or festivals are happening).
