Kids, don't text strangers

A 16-year-old French girl was kidnapped and shot dead in western France by a jilted boyfriend she had met by text messages sent over a cell phone, a public prosecutor in the area said, reports the New Zealand Herald.

"Her 43-year-old kidnapper also killed himself with a gun, a local police source said. He and the girl, Aurelie, were found in his car in a village not from her home in the coastal town of Jard-sur-Mer, the source said."
