Parents fighting plans for a mobile phone mast
BBC News reports that a group of parents fighting plans for a mobile phone mast near three schools in Harrogate (Yorkshire, UK) will present a 2,000-name petition to the office of the Prime Minister.
Although an inspector rejected plans for the mast near the schools, phone firms had this overturned in the High Court.
Quashing the planning inspector's decision, the judge said that current government guidelines were concerned with "actual rather than perceived health risk".
Campaigners fear the decision will allow companies to ignore health fears and erect masts on sensitive sites in the future.
