Cell phones, text messaging and delivery (of cocaine) on the fly
Cell phones, text messaging and delivery on the fly -- if it sounds like the formula for a successful product distribution network, it was -- for crack cocaine, reports New England local newspaperThe Call.
"The dealers often used cell phones listed in the names of "mules." Drugs were typically delivered car-to-car during quick side-street rendezvous.
"Everything's on the fly," said Gallant, spokesman for the police. "It all happens in split seconds, and it eliminated a lot of the face-to-face introductions" that undercover police relied on to crack illicit networks in the past."
